Chaostica aka Crystal Lin grew up in the sunny city of San Diego. In her teenage years she discovered the underground music scene that was growing within the city. The music was aired on late night radio stations and it immediately caught her interest. Soon she became more involved with the scene by going to local parties, clubs, and did a small amount of promoting on the side. Then after years of being a supporter of the so-cal scene, drum and bass found her. "I couldn't believe how powerful the music was… the combination of bass and beats was just so intense." From then on she attended most of the local drum and bass events in San Diego and the southern California area.

After a few years of being a drum and bass fanatic she decided to learn how to spin records in '99. "Most of my friends were DJs, so I was always going with them to record stores, and hung out at their houses where spinning and music became the topic of conversation." Being extremely self taught, Chaostica researched drum and bass constantly whether it be in the record stores, in magazines, or on the internet. "I wanted to know as much as I could about the music, I was hooked." After educating herself on the music, she developed her style that she most identifies with. She enjoys playing aggressive hard rollers as well as softer melodic and jazzy tunes.

Then in early 2000 she began to play out locally at small parties. Since then Chaostica has played at raves, clubs, and house parties in southern California and elsewhere. The parties Chaostica has spun at include: Downlowd by SisterSF & Feelgood Entertainment(SF), Unity of Bass I and II by DVC (SD), Tazmania (SD), Systems Upgrade (SD), Believe by Xtreme Entertainment (Dallas, TX), Fall Underground (SD), Empire Strikes Back I and II (SD), Code Red by Pinwheel Cartel (SD).

Currently she is a part of DVC(deejays and vinylphiles club) which hosts a variety of DJs and her own crew, BassJunkiez, featuring local talent in San Diego. In the future Chaostica plans to spread her love and mixing style of drum and bass for the masses. "I just always remember to have fun when I'm out there, it's all about the connection between the music and myself."
